LA Movie Review- Runner, Runner

Justin Timberlake stars as a college student who finds himself working for Ben Affleck because he was stupid enough to gamble away his entire tuition. Brad Furman previously directed another crime drama that was quite good called The Lincoln Lawyer. I don't understand how the same guy who made Lincoln Lawyer read the Runner, Runner script & agreed to do it. This is a very, very bad movie. Its so poorly directed that most of the time the movie feels like a music video. An uninteresting music video. You don't care for the story at all because you don't care about the main character. Gary Oldman doesn't try to headline concerts so why does Justin Timberlake think he can headline a movie? Timberlake cannot act. Affleck playing the villain is the only good thing in the movie. The movie also thinks that its clever when it isn't. It has a bad script with stupid narrations throughout. This a forgettable movie, albeit with a good performance by Ben Affleck. Still, Batfleck can't save this waste of an hour & thirty minutes.
1.5/5
