LA Movie Review- Cinco De Mayo, La Batalla

An impending French invasion forces the Mexican army to prepare for a war that they have no chance of winning. This feels like a war movie meeting a horror film and the outcome is incredibly gruesome, violent & entertaining. This makes for a patriotic underdog story that's way too long & has dizzying shaky cam. Overall the acting was good. Some of the extra story lines distract from the battles. The battles are the selling point of this movie & for what they were, they were done well. There's also a bit of unnecessary comedy. This movie also runs way too long. It could have wrapped up 25 minutes earlier than it did. Overall despite all it's faults, this is an entertaining war movie.
3.2/5
