LA Movie Review- Don Jon

Joseph Gordon Levitt stars as a New Jersey porn addict whose life is turned around when he thinks he's met the woman of his dreams. Gordon Levitt's wrote & directed this film. While the movie is edgy, it really exemplifies the way Jon's addiction affects every aspect of his life. The movie is also very much commentary by Levitt on what life in this day & age has become. The acting is good all around. Levitt's character is fascinatingly self obsessed. Julianne Moore provides guidance & is the heart of the movie. Scarlett Johannson plays a very stuck up character & is alongside Joseph, the director's example of everything wrong with today's world. Tony Danza is not in it much, but delivers laughs every time he appears on screen. While not every other joke works the screenplay is still solid. I am happy to say that Joseph Gordon Levitt got to make exactly the type of movie he wanted to make & I'm even happier to say that Don Jon is a good film which pushes boundaries.
3.5/5
