LA Movie Review- 42

42 tells the underdog story of Jackie Robinson, the first black player in the major leagues. This movie has plenty of feel good moments throughout to make you clap at the end, but by no means is it perfect. Some of the scenes feel repetitive & there are problems with the pacing. Those are script issues as is the fact that there is alot of cheesy drama in here. I don't mean the drama that the racism evokes because that is necessary. That drama is enough but the writer/director felt the need to add more melodrama & that's my biggest problem with it. On the acting side the lead actor does a good job conveying Jackie Robinson's strength not to fight back. Legend, Harrison Ford is fine in this. It's a feel good movie that'll leave you with a smile on your face at the end & if that isn't reason enough to see it, then I don't know what is.
3.3/5
