LA Movie Review- The Evil Dead

Five friends are trapped in a cabin in the woods as a demon possess one of them. This is the most grotesque & disturbing movie I have ever had the misfortune of seeing. It sounds like a negative but being grotesque & disturbing is what the movie set out to do, so it passes on that level. It does fail on other levels however. There are clichés throughout, it's too long, & there are too many unbelievable moments. Also I'm 99% sure they stole the score from Insidious. The acting is what you expect from a horror movie. On the positive side the movie does have good cinematography & the director does a good job of never giving you s moment of peace. All in all, while this movie delivers what it promises, I wish this movie was scarier. I just can't recommend this to anyone.
1.5/5
0.5 for the directing, 0.5. For the cinematography, & 0.5 for it doing what it set out to do.
P.S. A better version of this movie exists. It's called The Cabin In The Woods
